Queensland Mining Exhibition Visitor Competition
Terms and conditions – 'QME 2008 Visitor Competition'
These terms and conditions apply to the Visitor Competition QME 2008, to be called: “Competition”, which is to be organized by Reed Exhibitions Australia to be called “the Organiser”.
Article 1 General
1. This Competition runs from July 22-24, 2008 up to and including July 24, 2008.
2. Every visitor to the exhibition Queensland Mining Exhibition (QME) can enter the Competition, to be called: “the Participant”.
3. Participation in the Competition is only possible if the Participant has deposited their Visitor Badge used for enter to the exhibition QME 2008 at one of two exit point drop bins, and has actually visited and has been scanned upon entry.
4. Participation in the Competition by employees of the Organiser and other persons involved in the realisation of the Competition are disqualified from participation.
5. Every person can only enter the Competition once per day, unless otherwise determined in these terms and conditions.
6. All persons entering the Competition are bound to the definitions and provisions in these terms and conditions.
Article 2 Prizes
1. The total prizes to be won are three QME Belt Buckles and QME Caps. Two prizes will be drawn daily on show closure through lucky pick . Maximum 1 prize per person.
Article 3 Distribution of the prizes
1. All winners will be contacted either by telephone/email or in writing by the Organiser within 14 days of QME 2008.
2. Winners will be announced on the QME website www.qme.reedexhibitions.com.au
2. No correspondence will be entered into in relation to the results of the Competition.
3. If a Participant has won a prize, he or she will be asked for proof of identity to be able to hand over the prize to the Participant.
4. The prize is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for money.
5. On refusal or when a prize cannot be handed out, the prize will be redrawn.
Article 4 Use of personal details
1. Every Participant should enter his or her email address on pre-registration to be eligible to enter the Competition. If a Participant wins a prize, more personal details will be requested. All information with regard to the use of these personal details can be found in our privacy statement.
2. The Participant guarantees that the information he or she has provided during the Competition are correct, up-to-date and complete.
Article 5 Organiser’s rights
1. The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify a Participant and/or exclude him or her from entry to the Competition if the Participant has acted in conflict with the terms and conditions or has otherwise acted unlawfully towards the Organiser or a third party.
2. The Organiser reserves the right to end, cut short or alter the Competition on their own discretion and without notification, and/or alter the competition terms and conditions and/or prizes if circumstances demand, without being liable to pay any damages to the Participants.
3. No correspondence will be entered into about the results of the Competition. If, for any reason, a dispute ensues between a Participant and the Organiser, the judgment of the latter is binding.
Article 6 Liability
1. The Organiser, any extra crew and/or third parties are not responsible for any damage, direct and/or indirect, as a result of or in any way connected to the Competition.
2. More specifically, the Organiser, any extra crew and/or third parties are not responsible for, as far as is legally allowed:
· Any additional expenses for the winner with regard to entry to the Competition and/or acceptance and use of the prize;
· Any damage, direct and/or indirect, as a result of or in any way connected to the prize paid out;
· Any defects in the prize paid out;
· Any damage, direct and/or indirect, as a result of or in any way connected to the alteration of ending of the Competition.
Article 7 Miscellaneous
1. By entering the Competition, the Participant winning a prize gives the Organiser permission to use the prize-giving ceremony for promotional purposes in e.g. press releases, photos and other publications.
2. If one or more clauses from these terms and conditions become invalid or declared null and void, the Organiser will specify a replacement clause which approximates the purpose and intent of the invalid clause as best as possible and which is not invalid or declared null and void.
3. The Organiser hereby states that he acts in accordance with the code of conduct for promotional lotteries.
